... via Wired Continuing my somewhat accidental line of posts about firearms & outlandish characters here is more, this time decidedly extraterrestrial... Our favorite SFX powerhouse WETA workshops (of Lord of the Ring fame) has issued a line of awesome looking replicas of the arms manufactured and used by the "prawns" in District 9 (produced by Peter Jackson ) The limited edition replicas are a bit pricey, the Arc Generator comes in at about € 355,- and is already sold out! The machines are big and look absolutely awesome and are a far cry from the comical guns from MIB (remember the tiny "Noisy Cricket") If You ever watched the "making of" Lord of the Ring and the painstaking work behind every sword, belt or architechtual structure (for that matter) that WETA produced You'd appreciate these items...
