For the first-time listener Sees-to is the guy who he’s been seemingly listen to all his life without even knowing it. All of his songs, especially the ones from his first album „Cold Fact“ (recorded in 1970), bear now the quality of long time favourites that finally find their way into one’s auditory canal. Either that or he isn’t really a first time listener. Perhaps because he spent some time in South Africa in the 70s. `Cause that’s were Mr. Rodriguez grew famous unbeknownst to himself after his two albums flopped in the U.S.

When his internet surfing daughter found out about her dad’s S.A. fame in 1998 (that’s some raison d’etre for fansites, isn’t it?) Sixto picked up his guitar again. Over a decade later he’s still touring and playing his hippy-esque tales from drugland to his fans worldwide (he played some gigs in Europe this June). We suggest you immediately get his reissued “Cold Fact” now and desperately wait for the re-release of his sophomore “Coming From Realty”. And don’t forget to pay: we’d rather like to see Sixto get high on his long deserved royalties than see some gaga ‘n peroxied teenager spend your cash on stage outfits… (This is not saying that we really think that Sixto Rodriguez is abusing substances!)
