The fourteen-look capsule collection is a rassy crossbreed of film, futurism and fashion. BLAAK’s new intern Nicomede Talavera based in London definetly knows how to combine these glorious three to a collection, which is as unconventionally as his name. The avantgardistic work „Searching & Slap“ by the Bragaglias Brothers, Larry Bell’s „20 glass cube“ and Mel Bochner’s artwork „Superficial.“ Mentioning the sources of inspiration for Talaveras first s/s collection makes you rather think of art than of fashion.

But appearances are deceiving: neoprene jackets and necklaces made of human hair counteract mohair, knits and glimmering tyvek tees. A wild mix of future, tradition – and 20s silent cinema. But it fulfills it’s duties in transfering the CSM student’s central idea: Movement. Talaveras design pallette varies from reduced, clear cuts, unusual materials including metal bolts to eye-catching patterns like pink graphics on white ground. „Creating a tragic pause, a gesture of terror, the entire scene, the complete external unfolding of an intimate drama all expressed in one single work“ he pointed out as his main goal at this. Aim achieved!
